Pennsylvania Lottery vs. Michigan Lottery: Who Wins?

Pennsylvania and Michigan are two states placed very close to each other. Both have fantastic lottery websites full of addicting games. Also, both of their lotteries were opened in the 1970s. Pennsylvania dedicates its proceeds to the elderly citizens while Michigan donates to its school system. In this article, we will decide which lottery offers better features and promotions.

Welcome Offer: PA Lottery takes the prize

Michigan Lottery’s Welcome Bonus

  • With this bonus, you get a 50% match bonus up to $100.
  • You also get free games of Treetop Treasures.
  • No special promo code is required during registration.
  • You must be a new customer.
  • To qualify, just add funds to your account and use them to play any Draw or Instant Games or both.

This offer is not as impressive as Pennsylvania's. They threw in free games, maybe to distract us from the fact we only get a 50% match bonus. Overall, I rate this welcome bonus 2/5.

Pennsylvania Lottery’s Welcome Bonus

  • A bonus valid only for new customers
  • You will get a 100% match bonus up to $250.
  • You have to use a special promo code to qualify for the promo.
  • You only have to deposit a minimum of $10.
  • Before withdrawing, you have to play through the bonus 10 times.

Compared to Michigan, PA Lottery doesn't add exclusive games to the bonus, but they double the match bonus you get. Maybe the only negative is that you must play through the bonus before withdrawing. I rate this 4/5.

Bonuses for current players: PA Lottery wins

PA Lottery’s Offers

  • Daily Bonuses and Draws.
  • Up to 30% Cashback.
  • Unique E-Mail offers and coupons.
  • Bonus Money & Free Bets.
  • A Different bonus every day.

The creativity behind this lottery's promotions is significant. They not only give you one or two cool bonuses and stop. PA Lottery weekly changes the types of promotions and for which games they are, and the best part is you can get a reward every day. I rate this 5/5.

MI Lottery’s Offers

  • Monthly Giveaways.
  • Daily Spins on the “Wheel of Fortune.”
  • In-Store Coupon/Instant Game Offers.
  • Online Jackpots to win in-store playtime.
  • E-Mail notifications about new jackpots and exclusive offers.

The number of offers provided is limited, and most of them are for in-store games and not online ones. Compared to PA Lottery, Michigan definitely needs to work on their bonus offers and promotions. Maybe START BY addING more bonuses. I rate this section 1/5.

Pennsylvania Lottery vs. Michigan Lottery: Additional Features

Live-Streaming: PA Lottery definitely outdoes Michigan

Let's start with the Michigan Lottery. They do not have a live-streaming feature of any kind. They also don't display the draws live, which is definitely a negative. Maybe a positive side I can mention is that they have a YouTube Channel that they regularly update with all the drawings made. You can view any draw from any day on the channel. I would rate this 2/5.

PA Lottery only offers live-drawings for some of their games. You can access them on your phone, tablet, and computer. You can also view the drawings live in any of the lottery's retailers that can live-stream. The matches and races of the Xpress Sports section are also streamed, so you don't have to worry. Because PA Lottery has more options and it streams more than drawings, I will rate it 3/5.

Mobile Application and Website: PA Lottery wins

Both Lotteries have a mobile app and give us the option to play via a mobile website. But which one is better? Let’s see.

The Pennsylvania Lottery was the first in the state to bring the customers mobile and online gaming. This is quite an achievement. You have access to all the games on the website, even if you log in through a mobile browser or the official app. The speed with which the games load is surprisingly fast, and the graphics quality isn't lower because you're using another device. Of course, the last two statements depend on other factors like your internet connection, quality of mobile graphics, and CPU model. For now, there are only two versions of the application – for iOS and for Android. You can get them both from the official Pennsylvania Lottery website. Android users might have to change some of their device settings before they can download the app. I will rate this app 4/5.

The Michigan Lottery application has some cool features. Like the Pennsylvania app, you can find the common lottery features here too. Some of these features are:

  • Ticket Scanner/Checker
  • Play the Instant and Draw Games offered on the website
  • Purchase Scratch-Offs and other tickets from the phone
  • Check the winning numbers
  • Find the location of a retailer
  • Watch Keno Drawings

The app is available for both Android and iOS. You can get in either on the App Store or download it directly from the Michigan Lottery Website. An exciting development with the iOS app is that after Apple's new policy Michigan Lottery can't make updates to the application. Currently, you will be able to play freely on the app. Still, future iOS changes may impact your in-app gaming experience. If you start experiencing problems, MI Lottery recommends you continue playing through a browser or through your desktop. Overall, I am giving this a 3/5 rating. Mostly because of the issues with the iOS system and the fact that iOS users might not be able to enjoy playing in the future if they don't fix the problems.

Final Thoughts: PA Lottery Wins

PA Lottery would definitely beat the Michigan Lottery in a duel. They offer better bonuses and features. One thing that might give Michigan the advantage is the vast collection of games they have. But half of those games can only be played in-store, so again it's not as efficient as it could be. The website design is also another category in which Michigan wins. But both of these factors don't matter as much as the Bonuses and features that they offer. Overall, my opinion is that PA Lottery is the better candidate in this race.
